CasparCG Basic First Steps

In the world of graphic applications and server tools, CasparCG has established itself as a versatile and powerful tool, especially for those working with HTML graphic templates. In this article, we will guide you through the quick and efficient steps to get started with CasparCG.

Follow these Steps:​

1. Download the Essential Components​

Begin your CasparCG journey by downloading three essential components: the CasparCG Server, the Caspar Launcher by rrebuffo, and the CasparCG Client. These tools are the backbone of your setup and foundational for using CasparCG.

2. Unzip the Files​

Once you have downloaded these three ZIP files, unzip them. This step is crucial for accessing the components.

3. Copy Files from the Caspar Launcher​

After unzipping, copy all the files from the Caspar Launcher into the directory of the CasparCG Server. This ensures seamless functionality between the components.

4. Execute the Launcher.exe​

Run launcher.exe. This application is your window into the CasparCG ecosystem and also initiates the server and scanner for you. The Screen Consumer, part of the Launcher, shows what CasparCG outputs.

5. Start the CasparCG Client​

Now it's time to launch the CasparCG Client. This tool allows you to send your videos and graphic templates to the server. Organize your files by storing videos in the Media folder and HTML graphic templates in the Template folder within the server directory. Remember to refresh the folders before dragging the files into the rundown and playing them.
